FROBITS UP

and

FROBITS DOWN

Written by Marcelle Anthony

We are the cutest little Frobits

That you have ever seen.

We come in many colours.

Some yellow, red and green.

We are born in the

Frobit Meadow

In a cloud of glittering dust.

And when the dust has settled

There are more and more of us.

We live in this

beautiful meadow

Where we bounce and

play and sing

But mostly we just roll around

Because we are

without a wing.

We love to fly and it is sad

We cannot fly alone

So when we roll down

to the path

Please send us flying home.

We can giggle when we wiggle

We can roll but we can’t walk

And “Fro me, Fro me, Fro me”

Is all the talk we talk.

If you’re out in the

Frobit Meadow

Under the summer sun

You’ll hear us calling “Fro me”

Cause flying’s so much fun.

I hope you’ll come

and play with us

And throw us really high

Up in the beautiful meadow

Up to the big blue sky.

Oh life is fun for Frobits

We’re as happy as can be

We’ll go on many adventures

Just you wait and see.

THE END

Hope you enjoyed this weeks Children’s Stories and Bedtime Stories entry!

See you all next week!

Quick & Healthy Breakfast Ideas – The Cackleberries.com How-To Series

Back with our weekly initiative to answer questions parents may have, may not realize they have, or simply to provide further insight into a topic they are well aware of, we provide another installment of our “How-To Series”

These days, time is at an absolute premium.  Whether its daily chores, social obligations, caring for your children, or any number of other reasons, it is harder now more than ever to find the time to take care of ourselves.  With that being said, the best way to start the morning off right and provide yourself with the energy needed to make it through the day is by having a healthy and nutritious breakfast.  But where does one find the time?………

How to Make a Quick and Healthy Breakfast – Meal Ideas

It is often understated just how vital a morning meal is but breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day. Unfortunately, due to any number of circumstances and reasons, many of us fail to find the time for a proper breakfast. This is not good because there’s a lot of evidence to suggest that your body and mind will suffer unless you have a healthy breakfast each morning.

The average person spends six to eight hours sleeping. After that time, your body needs fuel to keep going. Without breakfast at home, your options for a meal on the go will often amount to ingesting excess sugar, excess fat or excess carbs. In the effort to save time, people often make the convenient trip to the fast food joint. This is usually not as convenient and time saving as one might think since many other people have the same idea. The ten to fifteen minutes spent driving around, parking, and waiting in line could have been spent preparing yourself a healthy breakfast at home.

If you’re a notorious breakfast skipper, here are some ideas and solutions to make sure your days starts with a good breakfast. Not only will these good breakfasts help you keep from being from being hungry but they will also provide that all important natural energy boost to help start your day off right.

1. Granola and fruit Yogurt – Some people like to eat yogurt, some people don’t. Well regardless, yogurt on its own won’t prevent you from being hungry. The key is to add some granola and a few raspberries or blueberries to the mix. Those who don’t like yogurt may want to give this a chance as the new ingredients give this breakfast a whole new flavour. This is a great solution to your breakfast dilemma, especially for those mornings when you’re running late. By keeping small bags of granola and blueberries ready and prepared in the fridge next to the yogurt, you can simply grab them and go.

2. Oatmeal – This breakfast, which is a wonderful boost in the winter, makes a good hot meal that also contains lots of fibre, helping you keep from getting hungry later on. Depending on your tastes and time, you can either prepare it on the stove or use the microwave for instant oatmeal. Children tend to like the variety of flavours that instant oatmeal packages provide but that may not be the case for you. If you want to, prepare a container of other ingredients like bananas, blueberries, or strawberries to add a bit of flavour and diversity to your dish.

3. Egg Sandwich – Again, the focus here is on pre-prepared food. For instance, the eggs for your sandwich can be cooked the night before and simply stored in a sealed container in your fridge. In the morning, you can just warm up the eggs in the microwave. If you want to liven up the meal, you can try adding some diced onions, veggies, or grated cheese. Place the eggs (and other ingredients if you so choose) on toasted bread. When the sandwich is made, if you don’t have time to eat it right away, put the sandwich in a Ziploc bag or container so you can enjoy it en-route to, or, upon arrival at your destination.

4. Fruit Smoothies – These are a great breakfast any morning but are especially satisfying on a hot day. If you do your prep work the night before, all you’ll have to do is blend the ingredients together in the morning. Just cut up the fruit of your choice into small chunks and store it in a sealable container. In the morning when you’re ready to blend your fruit, add a cup of yogurt and a few ice-cubes. Depending on the fruit you use, you may want to add a touch of water if the mixture is too thick. You can determine your own preference here. Don’t be shy and play around as there is a large variety of fruits and flavours to try out!

So, if you are like most of us, you’re constantly waging a battle between eating in the morning, let alone eating healthy. However, with a little preparation and the right breakfast ideas, you too can have a satisfying and filling meal that isn’t laden with too much fat, calories, carbs, or sugars. With these easy, healthy, nutritious, and time-saving breakfast ideas, you’ll be starting the day on the right track and will feel much better for it!

So go out there and have a quick and healthy breakfast and feel better during your day!
