After a fantastic Halloween recipes series, we’re back this week with another classic children’s snack recipe.  Today, we feature the always delicious……

Banana Bites!

Ingredients

  1. Bananas
  2. Chocolate chips
  3. Cinnamon
  4. Nuts (assorted varieties  – Crushed)
  5. Strawberries (optional)
  6. Graham Crackers (optional)

Directions

  1. Cut Bananas into round slices
  2. Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat until melted
  3. Dip banana slices in chocolate
  4. Cover with desired toppings
    1. cinnamon (or other flavours)
    2. Crushed Nuts
    3. Strawberry slices
    4. Crushed Graham Crackers
  5. Place finished Banana slice on top of a small Graham Cracker
  6. Eat!

Always quick and easy, these tasty snack for kids are a great way to satisfy your child’s hunger!

With today’s new snack recipe, Oville’s librarian Ms. Honeybun takes a minute away from her books to offer up one of her preferred daytime snacks.  Ms. Honeybun presents her recipe for……

Honey, Peanut Butter, and Banana Quesadillas

Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter
  • Honey
  • Bananas
  • Wraps

Directions

  1. Spread Peanut Butter and Honey on one side of the wrap
  2. Cut the Banana into slices and place on top of Peanut Butter
  3. Cover with another wrap
  4. Place in a Panini press (if you have one) otherwise, broil until the wrap starts to brown slightly
  5. Flip over and repeat
  6. Serve and Enjoy!

One of Ms. Honeybun’s personal favourites, this easy to prepare snack recipe is a great treat to serve your children!  We hope you liked today’s snack recipe feature and look forward to providing you with another great recipe next Monday.

Snoggler’s Summertime Slurpee’s

Ingredients

RECIPE # 1

RECIPE # 2

RECIPE # 4

2 cups of Watermelon

1 cup of Blueberries

1 Banana

1 1/2 cups of Apple Juice

2 cups of ice

1 cup of Raspberries

3/4 cup of milk

1/2 cup of Club Soda

2 tablespoons of sugar

2 cups of ice

1 cup of ice

1 1/2 cups of ice

1/2 cup of club soda

1 tablespoon of Vanilla flavouring

1 tablespoon of sugar

Directions for each recipe – Place contents into blender and mix until consistently slushy/smooth

Shelbee’s Super Salad full of Fruit!

Ingredients

  • Cottage Cheese
  • Fruit of your choice (Our preferred dish includes) 
    • Green Apple – cut into bite size pieces 
    • Blueberries
    • Green Grapes
    • Raspberries
    • Orange – cut into bit size pieces
    • Kiwi – cut into slices

Directions

  1. Prepare fruit and place into a bowl 
  2. Add Cottage Cheese
  3. Mix together
  4. Serve and Enjoy!
